Easter Eggs!

My mom, Landon's Nana, came to visit and to color Easter Eggs this weekend! We had talked about coloring Easter Eggs the weekend before with my sister (in-law) and nephew but I was afraid Landon would drink the dye or something kooky like that. However, my smart brother pointed out that it is probably non-toxic..... wish I had thought of that last weekend. None the less we still had a great time with Nana coloring eggs.... oh and Landon did in fact try to drink the dye and lick the spoons!
This was our first year coloring eggs since I was a kid..eerrrr.... highschool kid... lol we colored eggs at my house well into highschool. But I found some really cool tricks on Pinterest for some little ideas on coloring Easter eggs! We used Muffin Tins for some of our coloring dye and the empty slots we used them to dry the eggs. We also used only vinegar in half of the colors and just a little bit of water in the others. The ones with only vinegar were BOLD!! the ones with just a little bit of water were a little bit lighter. I mostly loved the bold colors- but the light green was almost a lime green and it was beautiful!!! Here are some of our pictures coloring eggs at the picnic table having tons of fun!

Photo Challenge!

I found a photo challenge on Pintrest and I have tweaked it a little. I don't consider myself a photographer... or anything close to it. I just like pictures. I love looking at old pictures and I actually love pictures that aren't perfect, one day I'll love looking in the background of a photo to see an old stove, what we were having for dinner, or Landon's toys thrown all over! So, I'm not taking this challenge to stretch my skills in photographer, but I'm taking the challenge to find items and things in my life that I want to remember :) So each day I look for a picture to meet the day's challenge and to add some memories. I hope you enjoy checking them out.
Since today is February 4th, there are 4 photos! So here ya go!

Day 1: Your View Today
This was the beautiful face that I woke up to today :) I would say this is the best view I could ask for!

Day 2: Words
This is the quote that I have on my wall in my office at work.

Day 3: Something that makes you smile
Landon always makes me smile! But his humor and smile make me happier x2

Day 4: Life
This is my one of my best gal pals at her baby shower from today. What a better representation of life than a new life! and she looks so happy!

Landon's Birthday Party

I just had to share some of the pictures from Landon's 1st birthday party- of course it was Mickey Mouse themed! He loves Mickey Mouse!! I pretty much made everything you see. I found so many ideas on My Pintrest !! Which by the way I am obsessed with!

I did buy the cake pops, and they were amazing!!! My friend from high school sells them on the side and she is incredible! I totally recommend her, check her out at Great Balls of Flour

I made these cupcakes! Those are the oreo minis to make Mickey ears and I found the red and white polka dot cupcake paper at Michaels. The chocolate ones I used a fancy tip to make the icing look fancy :)

Here is Landon's very own, special, one year old cupcake that he got to destory!
Here are the cake pops I was telling you about! Sooo cute!!

This is how I displayed the cake pops! I made it out of two styrofoam circles with paint and ribbon. Then I stuck the rods down it them with the letters of his name and put in the cake pops!

Here is the gift table! Complete with two 8x10 frames of pictures from the hospital when he was born and recent pictures as Mickey Mouse!

That's one happy baby!

This is an activity I had my guests do where they filled out their wishes for Landon. I found this fabulous idea on Pintrest.

Reading cards and opening presents

One year old!!!

These were the adorable bags I made for each guest! Mickey and Minnie themed of course! I found the black bags at Michaels and then decorated them with scrapbook paper.

Made from styrofoam balls, paint, tooth picks and rods! Then I stuck them in a vase layered with jelly beans :)
